Job description
CapeTownMagazine.com is looking for a strong, structured talented content producer for its online magazine; covering all areas across the magazine. The role largely includes partner/client generated pieces, therefore a high standard of writing is a must.
Do you love creating content about a wide diversity of things to do in Cape Town? Do you have passion for writing content and connecting with people? Are you an absolute geek in your passion for spreading content created for online media, from websites, to newsletters and from Twitter to Facebook? Do you have an interest in how to connect it to SEO results? Do you have the ability to work on a number of different projects at the same time?

The ideal candidate will have a well-developed interest in writing and online media, and would have studied something related, a good understanding of SEO and common practice around it. Good knowledge of content creation for online, and the elements that come with it. As well some experience in Photoshop. Knowledge of driving content through social media channels is recommendable.
The position requires you to have a solid work ethic as well as to be eager, organised, able to stick to tight deadlines, be flexible with workflows and a passion for what you do, and the City of Cape Town. If this sounds like you, apply below.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and researching content, events and what’s happening for a wide audience
- Writing engaging content for our partners across all the content pillars in the online mag
- Client interfacing and interviewing
- Interacting with clients on a daily basis in order to ensure that they are happy with their final result
- Planning updates on events features from a SEO perspective
- Coming up with strong efficient ways to grow events, content and readership
- Creating content that isn’t only relevant to Cape Town but includes surrounding areas as well
- Planning and strategising with the team to come up with exciting and relevant content in the magazine

Requirements
• Relevant diploma and strong command of the English language
• Excellent writing skills
• Good knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO)
• The ability to research content timeously and accurately
• Working knowledge of social media channels
• Excellent telephone etiquette
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop and the ability to work creatively
• Able to work to tight deadlines
