AFDA is inviting applications for the position of production design lecturer.
As the Discipline Lecturer for Production Design AFDA is looking for a committed and dedicated academic/industry professional to lecture and provide support to undergraduate students. The position requires someone with drive and initiative who is able to motivate students and guide them into the world of Production Design for the screen/stage. The candidate needs to demonstrate a willingness to embrace AFDA’s unique pedagogy which is the basis of the interdisciplinary teaching at AFDA. There is also a strong emphasis on cultural relevance within the teaching, and the need to help the students identify and develop a distinctive African voice to their productions. In this way, we hope to be able to contribute to nation-building and build the foundations for a sustainable local film industry.
Roles and responsibilities
Lecturing Production Design for 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year-degree film students
Conducting student consultations and reflective meetings
Preparing and developing content and lesson plans for each term
Contributing to the registration for the term’s assessment tasks.
Working with counter-parts to ensure parity across all AFDA campuses on term outcomes
Attendance registers and class management administration
Selection criteria:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) with production design as discipline or skill.
At least five years’ experience in the film and entertainment industry

The Performance Manager is responsible to assist in the execution of the operational strategy and monitoring of all aspects of the loan origination process. Responsibility includes input into the overall loan origination strategy, monitoring of all origination and associated channels, liaising with Product Owners, Origination Analyst and Origination Optimization Specialist on key strategic projects, ensuring alignment of loan origination with the broader marketing, credit, operations and business strategy and line managing the Origination Analyst. The role reports to the Origination Manager.
Requirements
Key Performance Areas:
Strategic input and alignment
Assist the Origination Optimisation Specialist in the design of robust business process ensuring operational efficiency and easy integration with the relevant departmental product owners.
Remain abreast of the strategic projects implemented in the different origination channels and document vetting, while making provision for the necessary monitoring thereof.
Ensure effective communication and alignment across the organization with specific focus on IT, marketing, operations, legal and risk.
Understand impact of regulatory compliance on loan operations and work closely with the compliance department to ensure compliance.
Stay abreast of trends in the business processes and customer behaviour and make proposals to improve key metrics.
Operational Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Establish KPA’s and KPI’s for loan origination and ensure service level agreements are in place with operational functions.
Ensure that a performance monitoring framework is in place in order to effectively monitor operational performance and trends, as well as service level agreements with operational teams
Analyse and interpret performance information across all aspects of the origination process and ensure corrective actions are taken where necessary.
Communicate key performance indicators across various levels of the business.
Ensure appropriate reporting packs and interpretation of information is available to the Executive team.
Execute the vision of the Originations team with regards to process optimisation.
Management of day-to-day origination operations
Liaise with the relevant data analytics team in support of the operations of origination
Daily, Weekly and monthly tracking of Origination process to identify issues, opportunities and threats.
Assist the business development team with the interpretation of data relevant to partner management.
Team Leadership and People Management
Motivate and lead a high performance team; mentor direct reports to cultivate skills and to increase consciousness of the interrelationship between departments.
Establish a robust training and coaching regime designed to maximise individual performance.
