Requirements

• Strong background in PHP, MySQL and JavaScript.
• Ability to build, extend, and configure Drupal sites using core and Contrib modules (Views, Paragraphs, Webforms).
• Solid Drupal (7 and 8) knowledge and experience.
• Experience developing web solutions in Drupal 8 and PHP implementations in a LAMP environment.
• Ability to architect enterprise Drupal 8 solutions including data, display, and information architecture.
• Utilisation/development of API’s and RESTful web services.
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing).
• Experience using version control such as GIT.
• Experience working with a Linux environment.
• Experience working with Docker advantageous.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software according to best practice standards and methodologies.
• Work closely with front-end developers to ensure an effective, visually appealing, functional and intuitive implementation.
• Managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
• Solve difficult technical problems blocking project progress or work quality.

Job description

Requirements and scope of duties.

A brand-new independent outdoor and arms retail and wholesale store requires a store manager. 

The successful candidate will be involved in the shop front start-up of this retail establishment and will be expected for a start to manage all aspects of the store, as well as a wholesale component for some premium brands.

This new retail establishment will consist of a small start-up team and will therefore also require the Retail Store Manager to be part-time based on the Front End Store actively taking on a sales role and providing a seamless customer shopping experience.

Requirements

• Sound knowledge of retail and wholesale procurement and supplier relationship management essential 
• Experience in creating and implementing effective policies and procedures 
• Ensuring the administration is completed and kept up to date
• Weekly and monthly management reports
• Handle daily responsibilities that come with managing a retail store
• Must be computer literate (experience on a point of sale system)
• Implementing strategies to increase sales goals and customer service and operating objectives 
• “Specialist” Outdoor Gear and Rifle product knowledge will be to your advantage
• You’ll be responsible for dealing with customers, answering queries, selling goods, handling payments and making sure that the goods are attractively displayed.
• Successful track record in achieving turnover targets
• Performing other tasks as assigned from time to time

Customer focus, sales-driven, tracking budget expenses, pricing, vendor relationships, market knowledge, results-driven, strategic planning, management proficiency, client relationships, verbal communication.

• Fully bilingual Afrikaans and English (speak, read, write)
• Minimum of five years in retail store management
• Diploma Retail Business Management will be an advantage.
• Own transport and valid drivers licence
• Reside in Cape Town, Northern Suburbs preferably 
• Salary on offer is in line with large retail stores and a higher salary bracket will be offered to a candidate with the right retail experience
