A Social Media specialist is required by an advertising agency in Techno Park, Stellenbosch.

The agency handles a range of brands and specializes in the marketing of shopping centres, so the pace is fast and the deadlines tight, necessitating a highly organised, focused and capable person with experience on all platforms of Social Media to stay on top of the social media sites of various brands.

As Social Media Manager, you will:

• Be able to write a social media strategy and content plan
• Build an online presence through social media platforms that forms part of the integrated marketing strategy for various brands
• Assist the marketing teams and clients by providing brand insights and trend analysis, tailor made for their specific brands
• Long-term planning and unique ideas for achieving objectives and marketing various brands
• Social alignment of all campaigns across the appropriate platforms
• Monitor, measure and report on all activities to ensure that objectives are being achieved according to preset KPIs
• Be in a constant learning mode to be abreast of latest trends, standards, tools and international developments in the social space
• Have good working knowledge of Google Analytics and related digital channels like websites, Google search ads, online advertising and e-newsletters
• Report to the Creative Director but work in close liaison with the Design and Marketing teams

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Social Media Marketing. Other digital platform qualifications a bonus
• Minimum three to five years’ experience in various social media platforms and online engagement
• Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation
• Strong knowledge of media monitoring, research, analysis, measurement and report generation
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the mechanics of growing online follower bases and engagement

• Effective interpersonal skills, working well across functions and platforms
• High energy level and entrepreneurial drive, topped by an infectious passion for social media
• Must be able to perform under pressure and cope effectively in a fast pace dynamic marketing environment

Requirements

Essential to be considered as a candidate for this position:

• At least one year of experience
• Relevant degree or diploma
• Fully competent in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator/Animate/Dreamweaver
• Excellent design ability
• Fully competent in HTML5 coding
• Experience in CSS3/bootstrap
• Ability to execute responsive design
• Fully competent in WordPress CMS with customisation (NB)
• Full knowledge of social media marketing
• Fluent SEO knowledge

You will be required to:

Digital

• Excellent design sense, typography, etc.
• Design front-end and code websites
• Design and publish online ad campaigns
• Design, code and distribute emailers
• Manage online advertising platforms
• Manage social media platforms

Print

• Design printed assets (print ready) including packaging
• Develop and execute print advertising campaigns
• Client interaction: Occasionally you will be required to present to clients

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of Final Cut, Adobe Premiere and After Effects a big plus
• Good writing skills/use of English
• Html5 or web animation

Candidates must also:

• Have a basic UI and UX design understanding
• Manage time well and work quickly
• Basic understanding of print ready files
• Be willing to assist wherever required
