A dynamic e-commerce company seeks a highly talented customer insights analyst to join its team. Your core role will be producing automated reporting and analytical solutions to support business operations and strategy. The successful candidate should possess a Degree in the fields of Maths or Statistics, be proficient in advanced Excel and SQL writing. Any experience with Stats packages such as SPSS/SAS/R and Big Data Reporting packages PowerBI/QlikView/Tableau will prove highly beneficial. Please note this is an Employment Equity position.
Duties:
Strategic analysis and reporting –
Setup and generate weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for ops areas.
Setup measures and track strategic initiatives.
Run ad-hoc in-depth analysis across different data sources.
Track and review performance of all areas to ensure targets are met.
Understand the business process in order to create a new analysis that will highlight areas for improvement.
Develop analytics to review resource planning and discover opportunities to increase efficiency.
Develop analytical models to drive sales opportunities within the customer base and contact strategies.
Project management and supporting operational areas –
Take the lead on assigned or self-initiated projects for the ops area from inception to execution.
Serve as a soundboard for operations managers relating to challenges and solutions for their specific areas.
Requirements:
Qualifications –
Mathematics or statistics-related Degree.
Experience/skills –
Minimum five years’ experience in analysing data.
Advanced Excel.
SQL query writing.
Experience in Statistical packages: SPSS/SAS/R.
Experience in Big Data Reporting packages including PowerBI/Qlikview/Tableau.

A fast-growing leading retailer is looking for a team manager (data management) who will focus on providing strategic direction to the data teams in order to create business value, help manage firm-wide risk, reduce cost, and drive innovation by harnessing and leveraging data as an asset. Successful incumbent should have a bachelor’s Degree in computer science or computer engineering, five years’ experience within the retail industry, specialised data management toolsets and working with master data. Should also have three years SAP or ERP implementation experience.
Duties:
Strategic leadership:
Provide direction and coaching for data systems and process for the organisation. This includes direct and indirect reports working across primary and secondary market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence and information technology.
Proven track record of performance that demonstrates strong leadership.
Collaboration:
Partner with the business and technology teams to scope business questions and identify where data can have the greatest impact.
Collaborate with other data owners to define data and develop related meta-data.
Innovation:
As a technical leader and subject matter expert remain current on state-of-the-art methods useful in data engineering and share knowledge with other data stakeholders.
Be able to identify and describe the complex interplay between data in the various systems of origin and final use, for example reporting, manufacturing, quality.
Quantify the impact that technology, organisational structure and business practices have on data quality.
Be able to develop and implement new innovative business tools, techniques and processes.
Manage:
Flawless execution of all projects and activities that drive the success of the business.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
Five years’ experience in the retail industry.
Five years in-depth experience working with master data, for example data quality, data compliance and data governance.
Five years’ experience with specialised data management toolsets.
Three years’ SAP or other ERP implementation experience and involvement.
Should have experience and knowledge in the following:
Programming.
SDLC knowledge Skills.
Object Orientation.
Systems Analysis.
Implementing and using BI tools.
Project Management.
Budgetary and expense control.
