MPRTC Recruitment
The most essential and important resource any company can possess will undoubtedly be the talent that they employ. This is where MPCT is crucial, in that we specialise in the most diverse and complex resource; we supply people, the right people, for your company.
What does a job title like this actually mean? Part – B2B Strategist, Project Manager and a whole lot of inbound magic! But you are better off reading the ‘war & peace’ below…
It’s time to drink our own champagne and we need you to help us!
This is the slightly ironic story of a digital marketing agency with off the chart growth despite their own digital marketing. There is only so much up-selling, cross-selling and word of mouth referrals that an agency can take before their triple-digit growth plateaus. We don’t do plateaus!
It’s criminal that we aren’t doing what does so well for our clients, ourselves. But instead of beating ourselves up about it, let’s focus on how you can help us drink our own champagne and make sure we don’t plateau in 2018!
We Need to Own this Vertical
We are a B2B agency. As my Dad always said ‘there is a lot of money in boring’. We started out as a B2B/technology agency and although we still work with the likes of Microsoft, HP and SAP we realised earlier this year that we are never going to own this vertical market.
We don’t like ‘plateaus’ and we certainly don’t like the potential of not ‘owning a vertical’.
Earlier this year we looked at our B2B client base and saw that it was our B2B Event clients that we were making the biggest impact with. We could own their digital strategy. In this market there are very few specialist agencies and the global B2B event market (Trade Shows, Conferences, Exhibitors, Inhouse Event Management) runs into the multi-multi of billions a year. The icing on the cake is that on average 25% of B2B marketing budgets are spent on events. We need you to help us own this vertical!
A Lofty Digital Strategy – Executed
While few and far between, we have all seen companies that can’t help but be brilliant (even in B2B). Their brand voice sings your song, every white paper they produce you simply can’t resist downloading, every blog they write hits the mark, their explainer videos look like they have been produced in hollywood, their website is beautiful yet highly functional, their emails make you smile, their social gets more ‘shares’ and ‘likes’ than we have all had hot dinners, their presentations, pitches and proposals virtually close deals without a sales person. We need you to help us be like that!
Are you a Digital Marketing Maestro? (20% Clouds – 80% Dirt)
To be a digital marketing maestro you live your life ‘in the clouds and in the dirt’ (borrowed that from Gary Vee).
The clouds – describes your quest to discover the unknown, your philosophy to learning, exploration, failure and continuous improvement, it’s about your need to understand what’s disrupting today and especially tomorrow — it’s about never accepting ‘its always been done like this’ it’s about your digital agility.
While we need you in the clouds, it’s imperative that you love to get your hands dirty. The dirt is about being a practitioner, always executing towards those clouds, it’s about hard work, it’s about getting your hands dirty and the experience/learning you get from that.
As our inhouse Marketing Maestro (think orchestra conductor) you’ll help design an integrated strategy which includes
Website design/development
Positioning/Messaging
Persona development
Database
Inbound
Content (multiple formats)
Social
Paid Media
Nurturing (marketing automation)
CRM integration
Marketing collateral
Analytics
Don’t worry – we have most of the musicians in house, for you to pull these digital components together to make beautiful music. This part is obviously where digital strategy and project management come into play!
Requirements
You: B2B Inbound Marketing Maestro with dirty, mucky hands?
Although our inbound strategy will come in part from your cloud thinking, your greatest passion is seeing the result of content devoured by your target prospects – this is where we really really need you getting dirty.
One of our core values is ‘walk in their shoes, see through their eyes’ which also brilliantly describes our philosophy towards content and our inbound marketing strategy. By deeply understanding the challenges and opportunities our target personas face, you will produce content that not only shows us ‘walking in their shoes’ but poetically ‘walks them through an inbound strategy’ which ends with them saying ‘I should speak to these guys’.
Your Maestro Background (sorry – here is where we use ‘bullet points’)
Our predictor — Your writing ability led you into a digital agency career, which then led you into inbound strategy – which will (hopefully) lead you to us!
You have two+ years designing and executing B2B inbound strategies
Your middle name is ‘persona’
Your research & analytical abilities indicate you might squeak when you walk
You are expert at skipping prospects down a buyer’s journey which ends with “I’m going to contact these guys” or “I’m using these guys, they are brilliant”
Your inbound strategies and planning are masterful, yet fluid/agile
You are a Content Creator (this is where your love of dirt comes)
It’s in your DNA – writing and content creation (we’re probably your English teacher’s favourite)
You are a wordsmith with a brave imagination – yell yeah – even in B2B we can push the proverbial boat out!
You can turn your hand to most content forms (while we don’t expect Quentin Tarantino) you can write a funny explainer script, shock with a headline, be playful with your audience (even in an ebook) etc.
You are a Digital Hybrid Marketer (WTF is a Hybrid Digital Marketer?)
While inbound and content creation/curation is your forte you are a ‘hybrid’, as you know how to, and play extremely well with copywriters, designers, developers, paid media, social media and sales.
You can project plan & manage (integrated projects)
You know a great brand voice, messaging and positioning statement when it bites you
Your Agency Background
You have four+ years working in Digital for an Agency
Of which two+ years within B2B
What will you get in return
Our success will be directly related to your success so it’s only appropriate that we pay you a good salary with juicy performance bonuses. With the growth of our agency, you may choose to continue leading our marketing charge (have you CMO aspirations?) or we could turn your focus to our clients. Lastly – our culture is one of extreme fun while getting very dirty! Come and join us in 2018 – help us avoid the B2B walk of shame!
