Reputable IT software development house based in Cape Town is looking for a software analyst with two+ years’ experience with a relevant tertiary university qualification. You will work with the Product Owners and Project teams to perform detailed analysis and design of products/ systems.
Duties
Works under the guidance of the product owners, researching and understanding business needs and requirements from various sources
Performing of detailed analysis work for the team
Problem-solving and Ddiagnostic work
Assist in providing innovative solutions for product features
Creating functional specifications and system design specifications
Assist in developing, modelling, documenting and maintaining functional and system design specification
Involvement in functional/technical design sessions with the development teams
Participate in Testing, including but not restricted to review testing artefacts, facilitating User Acceptance Testing, Vendor integration testing
Change management of requirements
Providing production support for escalated Customer service centre calls on product related issues
Consistently delivering high-quality service to clients
Requirements
Relevant Tertiary-level Degree (B Degree Computer Science or IS).
Minimum of two years of proven software experience in an analyst role.
Must have a solid understanding in the areas of application programming, object orientated design, database design, user-experience design and systems design
Quickly and efficiently understand business needs and data
Initiative, creative and analytical approach to problem-solving
Able to identify critical issues with ease
Willingness and ability to work under pressure
Able to work accurately at a fast pace
Able to multi-task
Team Player, but also confident enough to operate alone
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail but with the ability to think of the bigger picture
Ability to anticipate and evaluate potential problems in a solution prior to implementation
High competency with MS word, Excel
Experience with SQL and UML (or equivalent modelling language) essential
