Content creation – Writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communication materials, and material for social media channels
Social media marketing – Creating, managing and growing the company’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties
Customer relations – Responsible for customer support – answering questions however they come in (phone, e-mail, Twitter, etc.) and managing any online feedback forums such as GetSatisfaction pages, etc.
Communications/marketing strategy – Responsible for creating strategic marketing /communications plans to provide direction for the company’s public-facing communications, as well as to any client accounts that might be relevant
Analytics – Using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives
Public relations – Ability to manage incoming media requests and build relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns
Budget and report management – Oversee and report data ties into the strategy and provide insights by fine-tuning reports before presenting
Ability to create, manage and holistically build the brand’s online presence through social media platforms and other strategically aligned online mobile platforms that will form part of the integrated strategy

Outgoing personality – You will be required to walk into networking events and be comfortable introducing yourself to strangers
Writing skills – A background in journalism or experience in writing is essential, as you will be creating a lot of content, as well as newsletters
Interest in the industry – We are looking for a community manager that is passionate about what they do.
Willingness to work around the clock – Being a community manager isn’t a nine to five job. This position involves working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hours
PR experience – Having experience with public relations and communications is an advantage
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary education/degree
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a community manager at a medium to large organisaiton
- Any PR/communications experience will be advantageous
