Duties:
- Financial advice regarding budget and financial management of short courses

- Managing and facilitating tangent planes between the short course and finance divisions

A dynamic financial services company seeks a finance reporting and tax manager to be responsible for the external and internal finance reporting functions by ensuring submission deadlines are met and all reporting is aligned to best practice financial governance and internal controls. The ideal candidate must possess a B.Comm (accounting) or equivalent finance qualification and three to five years’ relevant experience.
Duties:
Annual financial statements and statutory returns
- Manage and review the annual financial statements to ensure that they accurately reflect the financial results and are compliant with IFRS.
- Manage and review the regulatory returns process to ensure that the NCR, SARB, SARS and CIPC returns are submitted within the required timelines.
Internal reporting
- Manage and support the internal reporting team to ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of monthly finance packs containing all subsidiary information with commentary analysing the performance of the companies.
- Manage the timeline for board packs, including consolidating board pack information and reviewing for completeness and accuracy of the board pack, such that submission to the board takes place timeously.
- Prepare and / or review technical accounting papers.
External shareholder reporting
- Manage and support the external reporting team to ensure the accurate preparation and timely submissions of all external reporting information and packs.
- Manage and review the status of the reconciliation process and FACT sheet reporting to BNP.
Tax management
- Manage the tax reporting and submission deadlines.
- Manage the applications for direct and indirect tax rulings.
- Review existing and implement new policies for changes in tax legislation.
- Prepare and / or review technical tax papers.
- Maintain relationship with SARS and tax advisers.
Month-end process
- Assist with managing the month end process:
- Ensure the process is operating efficiently.
- Ensure monthly value added tax (VAT submissions).
- Manage and review the status of the month end close to ensure that month end is closed timeously and the balances are recorded accurately.
- Ensure month end is completed within BNP requirements.
Delivery of audit without material queries
- Manage and deliver the followings audits on time:
- IGF audit
- Private label cards audits
- NCA internal
- Current and future SARS audits
- External audits
Team management
- Manage, guide and support the Reporting and Tax team to ensure optimal performance, engagement and succession.
Support to finance and ad-hoc tasks
- Deliver on ad-hoc projects/requests from the Head of Financial Management and Finance Executive.
- Provide technical accounting and tax support for projects and initiatives
Requirements:
- B.Comm (accounting) or equivalent finance qualification.
- Three to five years’ relevant experience.
