Department:
The Design Department is responsible for all of our digital and offline requirements. This covers a lot of mediums, skills and deliverables. We have different levels of designers within the team ranging from Junior Designers through to experienced Graphic and Web Designers.
As a multicultural company we operate in many languages and have a diverse range of nationalities within our team. Everything that is seen from the outside world generally has to come through our department so it is important for us to uphold high standards to make sure our brands and products are represented as the market leaders in all senses.

Purpose:
The Designer, reporting into the Design Manager will have a large focus on creating and maintaining eye-catching marketing material, generating and executing concepts and where necessary, providing support where needed to the wider design and creative team.
You will be creating both digital and some print graphics for items such as Direct Mail and Posters through to digital materials such as banners, mailer imagery, website graphics and video. This will be within a multilingual environment where dynamic designs are required, often with tight deadlines.

Duties will include, but not limited to:
The position will involve the following areas of responsibility:
• Create usable, innovative digital designs and modifications as required
• Create marketing material for our Marketing and Promotions departments which will include banners, landing pages, flyers, and direct marketing packs
• Work closely with key stakeholders to establish project guidelines that consistently support branding and messaging initiatives
• Follow principles of good web design, ensuring that design layouts are compliant to the latest Web standards
• Maintain graphic and technical knowledge by attending design workshops and reviewing professional publications where possible taking a proactive approach to develop your knowledge and gain experience

Requirements

Essential Requirements:
• Competent use of Adobe’s Creative Cloud Suite with a respectable understanding of HTML & CSS
• Proven commercial experience in Motion Graphics – After Effects/Premier/Final Cut Pro
• Relevant Diploma/Degree or similar in a related field such as digital design, graphic design
• Proficient in using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Good Typography/Layout skills
• Photography experience
• A solid design and digital understanding with the ability to deliver a succinct and effective technical design
• Possess strong design and conceptual skills
• Awareness of international web standards

Advantageous

• HTML5 / CSS3
• Client Facing experience

Job description

Management and ownership of various projects through the various stages, right from initial brief, through the studio and into production. Liaising with clients, sales staff, traffic, and the studio as well as any other relevant stakeholders to ensure that a quality product is delivered to our clients, on time and according to the brief.

Key result areas:

• Interpretation of briefs to ensure understanding of all required elements in the project/campaign to achieve execution.
• Planning, organising, and controlling of various functions to ensure on-time delivery of a quality project, as per specs and on the budget.
• Client satisfaction – ensuring a minimum customer experience index (CEI) of 96%.
• Excellent inter-personal relations, ability to manage client relationships effectively, and ensure that the outputs of the studio, result in the client’s requirements being fully met.
• Ensuring accuracy of information – through planning, reporting, administration, quality control, timekeeping, and time recovery.
• Work closely with and provide support and back-up to the client services director.

Requirements

• A tertiary qualification in administration/project management/commerce or advertising.
• Afrikaans as a first language otherwise completely billigual
• Minimum of five years’ experience in client services/project management with agency experience.
• An understanding of the process of delivering on integrated annual reports (IAR) including design, repro, and print as well as the digital processes associated with the web and mobile output, is essential.
• High levels of computer literacy particularly in MS Office essential.
• Digitally savvy and comfortable in a technology driven environment. 

Advantageous

• An understanding and knowledge of financial advertising, JSE listing requirements, and the Companies Act particularly as it pertains to financial reporting.
• A knowledge of marketing both ATL and BTL, including digital marketing.
