Senior Advisor: Centre for Teaching and Learning (two-year contract)

The Centre for Teaching and Learning is a unit that creates professional learning opportunities for academic staff at Stellenbosch University.
Duties:
- Organising, participating in and leading projects and activities of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
- Liaising and communicating with faculties regarding CTL projects and activities
- Providing advice and support to academics with regard to teaching, learning and assessment
- Participating in policy development in relation to teaching, learning and assessment
- Undertaking research on teaching, learning and assessment
- Participating in teaching, learning and assessment initiatives in the region
Requirements:
- Master’s degree
- Three to five years’ relevant experience working in a higher education institution
- Knowledge of the South African higher education sector
- Project management experience
- Good communication and liaison skills
- Good presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong writing ability, including of minutes, reports and articles
- Attention to detail
- Ability to think analytically
- Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Moodle, ISpring and web design
- Willingness and availability to travel
Recommendations:
- A PhD
- Knowledge of more than one South African language
- Knowledge of and experience in higher education curriculum renewal
Commencement of duties: 1 June 2017 or as soon as possible
