Job Summary To assess patients, make diagnoses, prescribe treatment and perform minor surgery under the supervision of a medical practitioner. Key Performance Areas/Key Responsible Areas a) Accurate clinical evaluation of patient complaint, including initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment. b) Minimize GP referrals and encourage over the counter (OTC) medication utilization appropriately. c) Deliver appropriate information to healthcare users in a manner that is sensitive to their conditions and level of understanding. d) Explain potential side effects of medication and provide patients with information and advice on prescribed OTC medication. Required Qualifications a) Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP) b) Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) c) Driver’s license. Desirable Qualifications a) Postgraduate diploma in Primary Health Care. b) Dispensing license. Required Experience a) 5 years’ proven working experience. b) Clinical evaluation of patient signs and symptoms and appropriate prescribing. c) Thorough knowledge of Company products and formularies. Desirable Experience a) Understanding of Managed Care principles. b) Management/ supervisory experience. Required Knowledge and Skills a) Extensive MS Office knowledge. b) Strong written and verbal communication skills. c) Good telephonic communication skills and telephone etiquette. d) Good listening skills.
