Coded Boiler Welders
Key Functions:
Boiler/HP Piping Maintenance.
Sets up welding machine and connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by welding procedure
Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
Cleans welding after completing a weld, prior to inspection by supervision.
May be designated according to type of equipment used as follows: Welder A Class – TIG, MIG and SMAW, Coded for pressure parts.
Comply with all safety regulations. Experience, Qualifications and Skills.
Must have at least 2 years experience as a Boiler Welder.
Must have welded on the following materials; High Temperature Ferritic Steels e.g; Carbon Steel, 15 Mo3; X20CrMoV12-1
SAIW Certification will be an advantage.
Trade test will be an advantage.
Must be proficient in TIG (GTAW), MIG and MMA.
