Community Media Trust (CMT), a national NGO that focuses on empowering individuals and communities to take part in managing and improving their health through media and outreach programmes wishes to appoint one suitably qualified/experienced community liaison officer.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Attend the relevant community meetings and structures in order to ensure that the community is kept abreast of activities;
• Assist in finding venues and contractors when required;
• Work closely with the Project Coordinator and the team to fulfil the project goals;
• Represent CMT at local structures or ensure that someone does;
• Gain and support community entry;
• Assist with recruitment for programmes;
• Conduct community mobilisation when necessary;
• Supporting facilitators during sessions;
• Host, organise and attend meetings with stakeholders;

Requirements

• Matric (or equivalent) + a certificate in the field HIV/AIDS, or any related fields required
• Minimum of one year work experience engaging with communities is essential
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, TB, other related health issues and/or community work required
• An understanding of local culture
• Computer literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Valid driver’s licence
