Job description
While on shift, ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency for favorable operations.
Key Outputs [KPI’s]
- Takes part in plant optimization trials, providing advice, assistance and guidance where required
- Analyze plant failure modes and investigate causes for repeat failures to identify and correct root causes
- Takes part in evaluating continuous improvement opportunities identified by the production teams or engineering support
- Define and ensure adequate strategic spares stock levels
- Implement procedures critical to the safeguarding of equipment, ensuring that a safe environment is provided for all employees engaged in the operation of machinery
- Execute projects to improve equipment up time and resolve quality, production and operating issues, towards improving yields and maximizing plant utilization
- Maintain and improve communication, develop good IR and ensure that H & S and housekeeping requirements are met
- Coach and develop team members in line with the skills development
Requirements
Completed Control and Instrumentation Trade Test
4 to 5 years practical experience in automation where PLC / SCADA is primal
Instrumentation calibration experience
Sound knowledge of plant process control
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Good knowledge on industrial networks (DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet, Profibus and ASi)
Capability to ensure that all instrumentation is in compliance
