Job description
To create an award-winning standard of concepts, writing, and editing a wide variety of content above and below the line which meets or exceeds the expectations of the client. While your primary responsibility will be writing and editing content, a key attribute of this role is the ability to think critically through any activity and provide strategic solutions and creative ideas that go beyond the basics.
Key result areas
- Accurate deciphering of briefs and the following of instruction, always considering the creation of something better.
- Work in a team or individually to conceptualise though-the-line campaigns that answer the client’s brief and optimise brand personality.
- Write, craft, proof various styles of copy to suit the brand and intended media.
- Work with direct creatives, client service, production, and suppliers to ensure concepts are transformed into high quality, effective products.
- Meet time deadlines and adhere to operation systems and processes.
- Development of creative and strategic writing for content across our range of consumer-facing brands.
Description of tasks
- Writing clear, concise, and grammatically correct copy.
- Driving the creation of original concepts that result in effective and compelling communication.
- Developing and maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice.
- Familiarity with commonly used style guides.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical thinker who can present copy best practices and defend messaging choices.
- Strong copy editing and proofreading skill.

Requirements
- You need at least a qualification in a field like journalism, English, communications, or a relevant copywriting qualification.
- A sound portfolio of work to show writing abilities and the scope of their proficiency (please include with CV when applying).
- Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple deliverables and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Two to three years’ advertising or marketing background.
- You will need to create original work and develop ideas.
- Copywriters need to have their finger on the pulse, so that their copy is relevant and modern, and understand how people will react to their writing.
- Ability to write well: with proper tone, feeling, sentence structure and emotion. Grammar counts!
- Proven ability to adapt writing to various consumer audiences and product categories.
- Understanding different language styles that appeal to various target markets.
- Familiarity with commonly used style guides.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
