A dynamic investment management company in Cape Town invites a highly skilled data test analyst to join its team. This role will be focused on testing as part of a platform migration. The role requires a talented individual with a combined skill set of asset management and data management knowledge. Strong test analyses, business analysis skills and some project management experience are required. Please note this is a 12-month contract role only.

Duties: 

• Work in conjunction with the business analyst to agree Test criteria.
• Undertake functional and integration testing, and liaison with third-party suppliers to ensure appropriate test coverage.
• Coordinate and respond to testing requirements.
• Communicate progress, issues and risks effectively and timeously to the project manager.
• Complete any project documentation and reporting that is required.
• Ensure that test scenarios and scripts are prepared in a structured way, prioritised to reflect business or technical priorities and are approved by appropriate stakeholders. Scope is to cover test cycle contents and regression packs.
• Create allocated test scripts, monitor test execution and ensure results are recorded.
• Work with the project manager to monitor test execution and ensure results are recorded.

Requirements: 

Technical knowledge and experience:

• A relevant degree or diploma in a similar field.
• Strong experience of working as a test analyst for an asset manager with an outsourced back office.
• Experience of business analysis/test analyst on data management projects within asset management (security data, benchmark data).
• Experience in working both with business teams, external teams, and IT teams with proven ability to understand business needs and convert to IT specifications.
• Experience in designing, managing and executing test plans.

Systems skills:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• SQL – ability to query data – required.
• Experience of asset management systems (data management, order management).
