A utility management company located in Richards Bay is seeking a Project Manager with 3-5 years experience within Debt Management to join their team.
Summary of position duties and requirements:
- Creating procedures and policies that ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention
- Reconciling complex accounts that have been escalated from the AR team
- Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO
- Ensuring credit and collection policies and procedures are followed
- Liaising with customers, as well as internal personnel
- Coordinating the debts of existing creditors
- Formulation of the company’s credit policy to mitigate unnecessary risk
- Reviewing credit applications and credit references to set credit limits and ensure credit worthiness
- Preparing journal entries, credit notes and assisting with month end
- Review and report on Aged Debtors
- Regularly meet and negotiate terms with third party debt collection agencies
- Manage write-offs, bad debt provisions and setting up of payment plans
Minimum requirements:
- Matric
- NQF level 6 qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Project Manager
- Credit control and debt management practice experience is essential
- Working knowledge of Credit law
- Project management qualification (Beneficial)
- Proficient in Zulu
- Reside in Richards Bay or surrounding areas
Abilities required
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to delegate tasks
- Time management
- Numbers orientated and strong analytical skills
- Highly organised
