We now have a great opportunity for a digital image retoucher to join the Weylandts team at our Head Office based in Northgate Business Park, Cape Town.

The digital image retoucher is responsible for image correction and manipulation for both product and some editorial style photographs. In addition, the retoucher must have an artistic eye for color treatments. Must be able to work in collaboration and be able to take art direction.

This is a full-time position, reporting to the marketing manager.

Main responsibilities:

• Retouch a high volume of product photos daily.
• Upload images to our internal server.
• Keep photos organized and distribute in a timely manner.
• Assist in product image retrieval.

Competencies/skills required:

Functional (technical) skills

• To be eligible the candidate must have a Diploma in graphic design/retouching/equivalent qualification
• Minimum two to three years’ working in a retouching position at a relevant company/agency
• Working knowledge of Photoshop, layers, masks, paths, colour correction tools, actions and non-destructive workflow.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Light Room, and Adobe Bridge.
• Experience in InDesign advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic editing tasks such as product retouching, colour correction, lighting adjustment, batch editing, texture blending, cropping, and cloning.
• Strong knowledge of Mac based equipment.
