A well-established national company based in Umbilo is seeking the services of a highly motivated self-driven individual to join our dynamic team as a DTP operator.

A vacant post exists for a DTP, layout and repro artist. The position requires attention to detail in layout, a passion for reproduction as well as a knowledge and understanding of design principles across various mediums.

You must be good all-rounder and have an ability to work on mac.

Strong knowledge of the printing process is necessary (set up crop marks, adjust bleed, etc.).

Ability to pay extra attention to detail and have strong layout skills will be highly advantageous.

Candidate requirements:

• Must be able to work well under pressure and work late to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Adobe creative suite (Adobe in design, adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop )
• General design and layout
• Scanning, deep etching , colour retouching
• Ensuring all work is repro ready
• Setting up of pages, imposition etc.
• Pre-flighting and ensuring print-readiness of InDesign files
• PDF generation flair for repro and detail
• Meticulous ,precise, efficient
• Able to cope well under pressure
• Reliable, hardworking 
• Willingness to learn
• Own/reliable transport essential. This is non-negotiable

Qualification advantageous

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Requirements

• Must have a good comprehension of the English language (written/spoken)
• Must be able to work well under pressure and work late to meet deadlines          
• Ability to work on last minute jobs
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
• General design and layout
• Artwork resizing, photo-retouching, layout, PDF creation, vector retracing of elements, die-line creation, etc. 
• Ensuring all work is report and print ready
