JOHANNESBURG – Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema will appear Newcastle magistrate’s court on Tuesday for allegedly inciting and instigating the EFF to trespass and to illegally occupy any vacant land.
“The new charge brought against the CIC Julius Malema is on Incitement To Commit A Crime To Wit: Trespass In Contravention Of Section 1(1) Read With Section 2(1) Of Trespass Act. Act 6 Of 1959 As Amended By Criminal Law Amendment Act 59 Of 1983,” the EFF said in a statement.
The trial is set for two days.
Malema has previously appeared in the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court on similar charges.
Malema is accused of calling for land invasions during the EFF elective conference in Bloemfontein in December 2014.
