eNCA | Hanekom expected to respond to Mantashe Monday deadline
CAPE TOWN – Derek Hanekom has until Monday to provide reasons why he shouldn’t be removed as ANC national disciplinary committee chair.
ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe wrote to Hanekom, asking him to state why he should remain in that position.

Mantashe said Hanekom’s public comments about the no confidence vote against President Jacob Zuma have jeopardised the NDC.
Hanekom encouraged ANC MPs to vote with their conscience during the motion, saying they were protected by the secret ballot.
The NEC member has also been an outspoken critic of President Zuma.
