DURBAN – More than 21,000 runners have started making their way to Durban in the Comrades Marathon.

It’s the 93rd time this marathon is being run.

In keeping with tradition, the direction of the race alternates. This year, it’s a down run. 

Runners started at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall at 5.30am and will finish at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The cut-off is at 5.30pm.
