eNCA | Mining charter review: Stakeholders agree to reopen talks
JOHANNESBURG – Lawyers for Human Rights has come out swinging against government and the Chamber of Mines.
It’s slamming both parties for excluding the organisation’s clients from a proposed agreement on the charter.
On Sunday, the Chamber of Mines and Presidency agreed to go back to the drawing board and halt a court battle, seeking a review of the charter.

But Lawyers for Human Rights says it’s going ahead with its court application, calling for a new charter as it was left out of the latest developments.
In his State of the Nation Address, President Cyril Ramaphosa vowed to intensify engagement with all mining stakeholders.
