JOHANNESBURG – The National Prosecuting Authority will open three cases related to the murder of anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Timol.

A former security police officer could be facing perjury charges.

The NPA is set to investigate Timol’s death and the subsequent attempt to cover it up.

It’s been 46 years since he died in police custody.

A recent inquest found that Timol was murdered.

This is against the apartheid police’s original report that he’d committed suicide.
