JOHANNESBURG – The trial of Sandile Mantsoe is expected to continue in the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on Monday.
Mantsoe is accused of murdering his girlfriend of eight months, Karabo Mokoena, back in 2017.
He allegedly stabbed her, dumped her body in a veld and then set her alight.

Mantsoe claims Mokoena committed suicide by stabbing herself in the neck and that he panicked, which is why he burnt and dumped the body.
One police officer had testified that Mantsoe initially confessed to the crime, saying it was a ritual murder.
Another officer read from Mantsoe’s affidavit in which the accused claimed he had a toxic relationship with Mokoena and that she was obsessed with living the “high life”.
The State wrapped up its case on Thursday.
