eNCA | Toddler swept away amid Durban storm
DURBAN – Durban’s vicious storm has robbed an Umlazi mother of her only child.
22-month-old Okuhle — one of six young children at a crèche — was swept away amid heavy rains on Tuesday.
Resident Siphesihle Mthembu sprang into action with two others and managed to save five of them.
But even though some are calling him a hero, his thoughts are with baby Okuhle.
Search-and-rescue teams were in Umlazi on Wednesday morning combing the banks of the spruit.
A painstaking search was conducted with police dogs, but there’s no sign of baby Okuhle just yet.
