In this role, You will be responsible for developing paid social strategies and creating engaging social media ad campaigns, that deliver against company’s objectives and revenue goals. You will segment target audiences, track ad bids, help conduct A/B tests of ad copy and creative, and optimise your campaigns for success. You will regularly present progress and results to department leads and pro-actively look for new and creative ways to improve the campaigns performance on a constant basis.

Your role will include: 

• Define and drive best-in-class paid social strategies 
• Develop and execute engaging paid social media campaigns for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest or any other emerging social platforms, that are relevant to our target audience 
• Define and optimise budgets for multiple campaigns 
• Conduct hands-on bid optimisation; develop and implement strategies for targeting, creative, and funnel optimization to meet and exceed volume and ROI targets 
• Conduct A/B testing to identify high performing ads and incorporate learnings into future campaigns 
• Campaign monitoring, data analysis, optimisation and insights reporting 
• Collaborate closely with our Business Intelligence team to continuously improve social media campaigns performance 
• Act on new social media developments, trends and opportunities

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, business or similar 
• Two to four years of experience in a digital media advertising or similar 
• Your main area of expertise is to develop, execute, and optimise cutting-edge digital campaigns from conception to launch 
• You have solid track in managing big budgets paid media campaigns 
• You’re an expert in Facebook advertising with experience scaling campaigns in a high growth environment 
• You have experience developing creative strategies and deep knowledge of creative best practices 
• Good understanding of tracking, optimization and reporting tools 
• Proficient in MS Excel 
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills 
• Excellent communication skills

Candidate minimum requirements

Education:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Accommodation certificate/hotel school diploma is advantageous
• MS Office (Word, Excel and email) is essential

Work experience:

• Two years’ previous experience as a reservations consultant for a luxury hotel.
• Familiar with all duties and procedures in front office
• Two years of Opera experience is essential
• Knowledge of yielding and revenue management
• Exceptional upselling skills, including tours, packages and tourism experiences

Other:

• Knowledge of the best local experiences in Cape Town
• A passion for dealing with clients directly offering a complete travel experience
• Willingness to lead, take charge and offer direction
• Ability to multitask
• Exceptional customer care and service delivery
• Problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage customer issues

Tasks (include but not limited to):

• Processes reservations by mail, telephone, or online.
• Knows the type of rooms available as well as their location and layout.
• Knows the selling status, rates, and benefits of all packages plans.
• Knows the credit policy of the hotel and how to code each reservation.
• Creates and maintains reservation records.
• Determines room rates based on the selling tactics of the hotel.
• Communicates reservation information to the front desk.
• Processes cancellations and modifications and promptly relays this information to the front desk.
• Understands the hotel’s policy on guaranteed reservations and no-shows.
• Processes advance deposits on reservations.
• Tracks future room availabilities on the basis of reservations.
• Helps develop room revenue and occupancy forecasts.
• Monitors advances deposit requirements.
• Handles daily correspondence. Responds to inquiries and makes reservations as needed.
• Makes sure that files are kept up to date.
• Maintains a clean and neat appearance and work area at all times.
• Promotes goodwill by being courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
• Getting information about areas of interest in order to target more clients in particular seasons.
• Making arrangements for clients travel programs.
