Chapter Administrator – three-month contract

A vacancy exists for the appointment of a dynamic chapter administrator for the Cape Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The position primarily consists of serving the chapters (committees of volunteers) of the Chamber based in Paarl, Stellenbosch, Somerset West and Southern Suburbs. The successful applicant will be a self-starter who would be responsible for the secretariat support of meetings, being the key person for organising events and managing all new projects that will enhance the Chamber’s strategy of engagement in the regions. We are looking for an exceptional communicator and a ‘can do’ person.

Main duties/responsibilities 

The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Attending all Chapter Committee meetings
• Minuting the meetings and distribution thereof
• Coordinating networking events
• Reconciling of events
• Managing all email communications
• Support all new activities undertaken by the chapter

Qualification/knowledge/skills required

• Minimum requirement: Matric or equivalent
• Valid Code 08 drivers licence
• Own reliable transport essential
• Strong organisational abilities and excellent timekeeping
• Able to work outside of office hours when required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Friendly, strong, outgoing personality
• Ability to prioritise tasks according to importance in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build positive relationships with a high level of interpersonal skills
• Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office
