Step 1
Stir together water, yeast, and 1/2 teaspoon of the granulated sugar in a small bowl; let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes. Combine flour, salt, and remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar in a medium bowl. Add yeast mixture, milk, butter, and egg; stir with a wooden spoon until a soft dough comes together. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer dough to a lightly greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
Step 2
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out 8 doughnuts using a 3-inch round cutter and a 1-inch round cutter to remove center. Place doughnuts and doughnuts holes on a lightly floured surface. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let stand until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes.
Step 3
Place 2 doughnuts and 2 doughnuts holes in single layer in air fryer basket, and cook at 350°F until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining doughnuts and holes.
Step 4
Whisk together powdered sugar and tap water in a medium bowl until smooth. Dip doughnuts and doughnut holes in glaze; place on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet to allow excess glaze to drip off. Let stand until glaze hardens, about 10 minutes.

Kim Kardashian West has one of the most well-known (and most photographed) bottoms in Hollywood. And according to the 36-year-old reality star’s Snapchats on Saturday, it takes a lot of work to maintain that legendary booty!
In a series of videos, the mother of two — who is expecting a third child, a girl, via a surrogate — walked her followers through a few of the exercises she does to stay fit.
“Today is major leg day,” the star explained, while wearing an all-black workout ensemble and letting her new platinum hair lay loose.
First up were hex deadlift squats using a cap barbell weight bar (or trap bar).
Next, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star launched into a cycle of weighted power sled pulls, Romanian deadlifts, and seated leg presses.
She ended her workout with glute kickbacks on a weighted leg curl machine.

Fitness was never something Kardashian West was passionate until some unflattering paparazzi photos of her on vacation in Mexico inspired the star to find a whole new way to get in shape.
“I saw these awful photos of myself when I was on a trip in Mexico and people were photoshopping them and sharpening them,” Kardashian West explained on The View in June.
The aggressive photo editing and media scrutiny came at a particularly bad time for the multifaceted mogul, who is mom to 21-month-old son Saint and daughter North, who turned 4 in June.

“I mean I definitely was not in my best shape. I hadn’t worked out in 12 weeks,” she said. “I had two surgeries on my uterus … I was already not feeling like myself, and then when people were sharpening them and making them look way worse and then those were going around, I was like, ‘Okay. I’m gonna get it together.’ ”
To help, Kardashian West linked up with a bodybuilder she met on social media to formulate a better routine. Describing the new regimen, Kardashian West said, “I definitely think that you have to do the work. I get up every morning between 5:30 and 6; workout before my kids get up. I’ve been working out for an hour and a half [each day].”
Along with her dedicated gym time, Kardashian West also “totally changed [her] diet” after realizing a key mistake she was making.
“I was eating less thinking like, ‘Okay. I’m just not gonna eat this,’ ” she explained of her old dieting habits. “But I was eating absolutely no carbs or trying to and that’s really hard for me.”
Her new workout buddy, however, helped her solve this problem. “She’s really helped me with my meal plan to definitely add healthy carbs, vegetables. I was just not eating properly.”
Kardashian West isn’t the only member of the KarJenner clan spilling her workout secrets.
Sister Khloé Kardashian reveled the secrets of her revenge booty in a Khlo-Fit video on her app on Sept. 6 — turning the lens over to her trainer, Don Brooks and pilates instructor Shannon Nadj for the demo.
Brooks walked app subscribers through his Matrix Method, which includes four quarters, with two exercises a quarter, each done for three sets.
The first exercise in the first quarter is a basic lunge, repeated 20 times on each side. The series is then repeated on a Bosu ball, this time with only 10 reps on each side.
In the second set of the first quarter, Nadj jumps laterally into the squat position, repeating the move with 20 reps on each side. Again, the exercise is repeated on the Bosu ball.
Moving on to the second quarter, Nadj does dynamic squats for 20 reps, before repeating the exercise on the Bosu ball for an additional 20 reps.
The second set of the second quarter is jump switch lunges. Nadj jumps three times and lands in a lunge, repeating 20 times on each side. This move is also repeated on the Bosu ball for 20 reps.
Brooks’ complete workout with Kardashian is expected in a later clip.
JOHANNESBURG – Corruption Watch says it will not let SARS boss Tom Moyane fade into the distance.
The corruption fighting NGO said that, if the National Prosecuting Authority failed to charge Moyane, they would pursue a private prosecution against him.
SARS Commissioner Moyane has been suspended by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“Moyane’s done countless things that are sufficient for an investigation. There’s the VAT issue with the Guptas; the Makwakwa issue; there’s the rogue unit issue, which arguably was the most damaging single event that South Africa has experienced, that led to the destruction of SARS, that led to the then hounding of the minister of finance, and that was a plan concocted between KPMG and Moyane to bascially cause absolute havoc in the country,” said David Lewis of Corruption Watch.
“This cannot be somone who can just be let go. Pleasureable as that may be, he’s got to be held to account for it and I’m afraid in this case, account is prison.”

Polokwane – The father of Michael Komape, the child who drowned in a pit toilet at school at the age of five, is determined to “fix” the poor condition of schools in Limpopo.
James Komape has started with school libraries, GroundUp reports.
“This is something that I am doing, not only to help the children, but I am also doing it in honour of Michael,” Komape said, speaking in Sepedi.
“I don’t want my son to be forgotten, I want his name and memory to live on… Even before he died, we had planned to do this library initiative together, so I am continuing it. Once we manage to build a library, it will be named after him.”
“Our community needs development… I approached the local chief here at Chebeng [Village]… I was granted a piece of land, but now I am seeking donations to help me build the library.”
“In the meantime, I have started the library drive at Hosea Ntsoane Primary School in Chebeng,” Komape added.
“Books and desks were donated to us, with most of the donations coming from Section27.”
The library is already almost fully stocked and is open from 06:00 to 20:00 every day. It caters for grades 5 to 7.
He said it pained him deeply that, since his son’s death, there has been no visible development or improvement in terms of toilets in the schools in their area.
Komape, his wife Rosina, son Lucas and daughter Lydia were all present at the Eastern Cape High Court in Bhisho last week to observe the case Equal Education had lodged as part of its Fix Our Schools campaign.
At a round table meeting held before the court case, Komape passionately expressed his disappointment and pain about what had happened to his son and the lack of school infrastructure, not only in Limpopo, but the Eastern Cape as well.
“I am a person who loves children and education. It absolutely hurt me when I visited one primary school in Limpopo and the whole class was sharing a textbook because they did not have any [books]. The schools and classes are overcrowded. I wish the government would build toilets, [and] libraries and provide water in schools,” Komape told the meeting.
The day before the court case, another five-year-old, Lumka Mketwa, died in a pit latrine at Luna Primary School in Bizana in the Eastern Cape.
JOHANNESBURG – SA Rugby has proudly endorsed a TAG rugby exhibition match between the Jozi Cats – South Africa’s first gay and inclusive competitive rugby team – and the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) on Wednesday in celebration of Human Rights Day as the sport strives to achieve equality for all on and off the field.
Congratulations to the @jozicats on an amazing day for #gayrugby #inclusiverugby in #SouthAfrica @Springboks @WorldRugby pic.twitter.com/nlhtADihPy
— IGRC – #GayRugby (@IGRClubhouse) March 20, 2018
The match will form part of the #PrideInRugby tournament at Diggers Rugby Club in Randburg, Johannesburg, and is one of several activities endorsed by the SAHRC throughout the country during human rights month to emphasise the value of respect for human rights in the country.
Through the clash, the participants hope to raise awareness about inequality on and off the rugby field, educate against homophobia and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and advocate for acceptance and respect for human rights in general.
“SA Rugby whole-heartedly supports this initiative by the Jozi Cats and South African Human Rights Commission, and we would like to congratulate them on the initative,” said SA Rugby president, Mr Mark Alexander.
“Rugby is all-inclusive, and everyone participating in the game should be treated equally and should feel free to be themselves on and off the field, regardless of their gender, race and sexual orientation. There is no place for discrimination in the game.”
In just 2 days we make history with our #PrideInRugby #InclusiveTagTournament with @SAHRCommission proudly endorsed by @TagRugbySA.
All proceeds go to growing #InclusiveRugby at #DiggersRugbyClub and creating a #SafeSpace for the #KhayelitshaCats pic.twitter.com/zpn16Ch4ic
— Jozi Cats (@jozicats) March 19, 2018
Alexander added: “I would like to thank the Jozi Cats for the role they are playing in changing the face of the game and for their determination to show that there is a place for everyone in rugby.”
Jozi Cats chairperson, Chris Verrijdt, said: “To date, there have been no openly gay rugby players or officials in high-level rugby in the country.
“The participation of Jozi Cats in formal rugby structures can, therefore, play a role in reducing damaging stereotypes, encouraging greater participation of LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) people in rugby and fostering goodwill in the sport which can reduce discrimination in the future.”
The #PrideInRugby tournament will run from 07h30 on Wednesday, to 15h00 and members of the public are invited to participate.

Cape Town – The third Test at Newlands this week has received a massive injection of added spice following the news that Kagiso Rabada’s appeal against a two-Test ban was successful.
With the ICC lessening his punishment from a Level 2 charge to a Level 1 following his brushing of shoulders with Australian skipper Steve Smith in Port Elizabeth, Rabada copped one demerit point instead of three.
That took him below the eight-point threshold that had seen him suspended.
Rabada, though, is not completely in the clear.
He remains on seven demerit points, meaning that he is now one more infringement away from being suspended for two Tests.
According to Proteas coach Ottis Gibson, though, there is no need to worry.
Gibson acknowledged the possibility that the Australians could look to get under Rabada’s skin in Cape Town and force him into making a mistake that could get him into trouble, but the West Indian believes that the 22-year-old has learnt his lesson over the last two weeks.
“He’s a smart kid and I’m sure he’s learnt his lesson from what happened last week. I don’t think he will make the same mistake again,” Gibson said.
“In all the stuff that he did there was no aggressive intent other than celebrating a wicket. We’ve made him aware of the batsman’s space and where his space needs to be.”
Rabada is the leading wicket-taker in the series so far with 15, thanks largely to his 11/150 in PE.
He is also the No 1 ranked bowler in Test cricket, and his return means that Morne Morkel is likely to miss out again.
Morkel has announced that he will be retiring from international cricket at the end of the Australian series, and with only two Tests remaining we may have seen him in Proteas colours for the last time.
“Him (Rabada) being available simplifies a lot of things for us … he’s the best bowler in the world,” Gibson confirmed.
