HARRISMITH – Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member and law student, Wenzile Madonsela tied the knot to her fiance’ Khulekile Msimang in a traditional ceremony this past Saturday.
Wenzile is former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela’s daughter.
The couple met and fell in love whilst they were both still university students, and the pair have been inseparable ever since and have been dating for five years.
The visibly elated bride smiled and chuckled throughout the ceremony. She spoke fondly about her mother and the role that she had played in her life during her speech.
The private ceremony was attended by close family and friends of the couple.
The former Public Protector wore a black traditional ensemble and gave a moving speech about her daughter at the wedding.

In this role, it will be expected you ensure continuous fostering and dissemination of the company’s credit portfolio intellectual property by applying advanced statistical analysis. The successful candidate must have a relevant Bachelors’ Degree or higher and at least 4 years’ relevant experience in among others, consumer lending and analysing data using SAS, SQL, SAS Macros or other data analysis tools.
Duties:
Work within a team of analysts on best practice credit risk management principles and statistical analysis.
Undertake analysis to determine the impact of strategy changes to areas of application and account management strategies.
Develop predictive models aimed at the optimisation of risk decision-making.
Present ideas via reports and presentations, outlining findings and making recommendations for improvements to senior stakeholders.
Investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions and validate analytical results, ensuring accuracy and sensitivity of findings.
Use advanced analytical techniques such as modern data mining, pattern matching, data visualisation and predictive modelling tools to produce analyses and algorithms that assist with the business decisions.
Set up experimental designs to answer key business questions.
Forecast and monitor market trends using statistical techniques.
Assist in implementing strategy changes to live decision systems.
Assist with Application and Behavioural Scorecard development and testing.
Perform standard and ad hoc statistical analysis to support decision-making and mitigate credit risk.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree/higher qualification in one of the following:
Mathematics
Statistics
Economics
Operational Research
Actuarial Science or Finance (CA (SA), CIMA, CFA etc.
At least four years’ relevant experience:
Scoring and bad debt provision techniques in consumer lending.
Credit risk analysis on unsecured lending products.
Preparing data-driven credit policy recommendations for Senior Management and delivering compelling presentations.
Manipulating and analysing data using SAS, SQL, SAS Macros or other data analysis tools for complex modelling purposes or forecasting, i.e. ability to perform statistical analysis on large datasets.
Database architecture, i.e. understanding of database and data warehouse concepts and functions.
Additional skills/attributes:
Knowledge of statistical and mathematical models and methodologies.
Able to explain complex statistical information.
Draw data from systems and do analysis on information retrieved.
Quality control of output data.
Compile reports based on information retrieved and analysed.
Planning and organisational skills.
Able to work to, and manage, deadlines.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivery is vital.
Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills.
