The IT Infrastructure Engineer (Network) will be responsible for all aspects of design and development of the firmâ??s Unified Communications and video conferencing infrastructure systems, including, but not limited to, hardware and software configuration, deployment, support and maintenance, telecommunication lines, and integrations to other collaborations systems.
Further, the Engineer will be part of the Network Infrastructure team providing support for network engineering and remote-access VPN issues.
The successful candidate will be working with the engineering team to manage the firm’s voice, video, and networking infrastructure including call processing, voicemail, call queuing, MCU, scheduling, recording, integrations with other telephony and video systems and third-party integrations, related network and security equipment.
- Individually and as part of cross-discipline teams, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the telephony, video conferencing, and network systems and other infrastructure elements within the firm
- For both new projects and on-going operations, provide assessment of infrastructure-centric and user-oriented collaboration and network needs, valuate interfaces and integration points between hardware and software, and determine all operational and performance requirements
- Work with service desk specialists, desktop infrastructure engineers, system and storage engineers, and IT Managers to provide end-user support as a tier-3 technical subject matter expert
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of technical service design documents, procedures, policies, and manuals
- Assist with the development of the firm’s telephony, video conferencing, and network infrastructure design standards ensuring the design, where appropriate, incorporates industry best practices
- Carry out audits of the firm’s global telephony, video conferencing, and network infrastructure to ensure that the network complies with the firmâ??s standards appropriate for the office IT topology and size
- Progress assigned projects and tasks with the aim of delivering them on time and to budget using the firm’s agreed Project Management procedures
- Produce monthly statistics, metrics and reports on the telephony, video conferencing, and network infrastructure and identify areas of risk and usage trends
- Assist in the analysis and testing of new and upgraded software
- Assist in providing post-implementation support for newly implemented systems
- When applicable, properly evaluate and document/train others in the initial troubleshooting techniques to be used by tier-1 and 2 support for completing collaboration and network engineering support calls
- Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities
Skills and experience:
- Strong (tier-3) network support skills inclusive of prior experience with Cisco telephony, videoconferencing, and networks
- Strong knowledge, as relates to routing real-time communications over dual-carrier environments, QoS, PfR, iWAN
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, Contact Centre Express is required
- Experience with IOS gateways is required
- Experience with Expressway (CE), TMS, MSE, and CMS is required
- Experience with F5 GTM, LTM, APM desired
- Experience with Aruba wireless controllers, WAPs, ClearPass, and Airwave desired
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls desired
- Data Centre networking including NX-OS desired
- Experience with Riverbed WAN accelerators desired
- Linux/Unix experience desired
- Must have technical proficiency with routing and switching protocols, network design, deployment, and management
Qualification Needed:
- Must have three+ years of experience supporting IT collaboration systems (hardware, software and administrative components) in a corporate network environment
- College degree preferred; Experience may substitute for degree
- Possession of certifications such as CCVP or higher are desired

Pretoria, 30 November 2017 – The South African Revenue Service (SARS) today releases trade statistics for October 2017 recording a trade balance surplus of R4.56 billion. These statistics include trade data with Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland (BLNS). The year-to-date (01 January to 31 October 2017) trade balance surplus of R51.62 billion is an improvement on the deficit for the comparable period in 2016 of R9.93 billion. Exports for the year-to-date grew by 6.6% whilst imports for the same period declined by 0.2%.
