MMC’s products are used in the top-end of the market, in the following industries: Aluminium, Steel, Non-ferrous Alloys, Rechargeable lithium-based batteries, Chemicals, Electronics and Welding consumables.
 
The job incumbent will be responsible for processing material according to set targets and standards to conform to Customer’s specification.

In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the Marketing-Metal Handing House (MHH) team.  At MMC, the MHH section performs the value-add activities of EMM flake washing and degassing, EMM powder and briquette production, as well as packaging of the final products into bulk bags, small bags, boxes or drums, according to customer specification.  The job incumbent’s role is a key function to this team, as the person will be scheduling these production activities in accordance with the sales concluded by our sales managers. 

Orders to be produced and shipped to customers in locations such as Germany, Japan, Canada, South Korea or the US, for arrival in a specific week several months into the future and must be planned according to the throughput parameters of the MHH section, as well as the availability and transit times of the logistics service providers. 

The logistics service providers include rail transport, road transport, customs, port authorities, shipping lines and overseas warehouses. 

MMC’s Marketing-MHH team offers a very dynamic working environment, where the person will be part of the daily excitement of delivering the world’s highest quality EMM to customers all over the world, directly from the lovely town of Nelspruit. 
 
Job objectives 

• Conduct visual inspections of plant and take appropriate action.
• Monitor production process, machines and equipment, and report to Operator where required
• Record production and packing data on  the relevant forms and complete as per SOPs
• Ensure product are produced, packed and labelled in accordance with customer’s specification Plan and co-ordinate the day’s production and start plant according to procedure.
• Inspect relevant equipment according to company equipment checklists and SOPs
• Operate equipment according to production needs and SOPs
• Do on job training for new controllers
• Clean work areas on a shift basis
• Ensure compliance to all MMC policies/ regulations on Safety, Health and Environment and Quality Control

Minimum job requirements 

• Grade 12 with maths and science.
• One to three years ‘experience in a production environment.
• Overhead crane and Forklift licence will be an added advantage
• Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
