Tahir finished with four for 27 in 8.3 overs after former captain Hashim Amla scored his 25th ODI century to set Sri Lanka a target of 300 runs.
Sri Lanka were cruising along at 116 for two when Tahir was introduced to the attack in the 18th over and South Africa immediately got a firm grip on the game.
Dinesh Chandimal took on one of South Africa’s best fielders — A.B. de Villiers — on a misfield and was run out by a direct hit.
Three deliveries later, Chamara Kapugedera was foxed by a Tahir googly and was out leg before wicket without scoring.
Upul Tharanga — captain for the day after Angelo Mathews failed a late fitness test on a calf muscle injury — too fell for the googly when he hit one straight to the deep cover fielder.
He top scored with 57 runs.
Sri Lanka never recovered after that and were shot out for 203 runs with still 8.3 overs remaining.
There could be more trouble for the Sri Lankans after they took four hours and seven minutes to finish their overs during the South African innings.
ICC rules stipulate that teams should finish their 50 overs within three-and-a-half hours.
Sri Lankan players face heavy fines and a possible suspension for Tharanga for the next two games of the tournament.
Opener Niroshan Dickwella had given them a blistering start smashing 41 off 33 balls.
The openers added 69 runs in 50 deliveries and they were 87 for one at the end of ten overs whereas South Africa were 32 for none at the same stage.
The middle order failed to capitalize after a good start and they have to win their remaining two games against India and Pakistan to have any hopes of a semi-final berth.
Sri Lanka were excellent against South Africa’s seamers, but the introduction of Tahir derailed their innings.
After being put into bat in overcast conditions, Amla consolidated for South Africa with his 25th ODI hundred and the fifth against Sri Lanka.
He added 145 runs with Francois du Plessis, who contributed with 75 runs off 70 deliveries with six fours.
Amla was run out by a direct hit from Tharanga for a fine 103 that came off 115 deliveries with five fours and two sixes.
J.P. Duminy gave some impetus to the South African innings smashing 38 off 20 deliveries with five fours and a six. Duminy added 45 runs for the sixth wicket with Chris Morris (20).
Pretoria, 2 June 2017 – As at 31 May 2017 which was the closure of the Annual Employer Reconciliation Declaration submissions for the period 1 March 2016 to 28 February 2017, SARS received 248 639 employer reconciliation submissions which accounted for 16 127 446 IRP 5 certificates being submitted.
The submissions of employer reconciliation declarations are crucial in ensuring that SARS is able to issue taxpayers with their IRP5/IT3 (a) certificates. These allow taxpayers to file their personal income tax returns on time during Tax Season, which commences on 1 July 2017. The information is also used by SARS to pre-populate taxpayers 2017 personal income tax returns, making it easier for taxpayers to submit their tax returns.
SARS would like to appeal to those employers who have not yet submitted their reconciliation declarations to do so as soon as possible. Failure to submit employer reconciliations would impact negatively on employees as they would not be able to submit their income tax returns.

The answer to your boring relationship with cardio: plyometric exercises. The lovechild of speed and strength, these explosive movements allow you to create max force in a short amount of time. So you not only get fit in a flash, but you also crush mega calories — without doing super repetitive movements like running or spinning.
While moves like box jumps fit the bill, you can get extra creative with plyos, too. Enter: Daily Burn’s new Power Cardio program, which features lots of plyo combinations for a killer cardio workout you can do in 30 minutes or less — all while targeting your entire body.
TRY IT NOW: Daily Burn’s Power Cardio Program
“You’re training the fast-twitch muscle fibers,” explains CeCe Marizu, one of the lead Power Cardio trainers. “This gets your heart rate up and works different muscles groups at once, too.”
Sounds like a one-stop shop for training, right? Well, your fitness is about to reach new heights. We pulled six creative, high-energy plyometric exercises, all from the Power Cardio program. We have a feeling you’ll fall (er, jump) for this cardio workout.

Perform each plyometric move below for 30 seconds, taking a 30 second break (or less!) between each to really raise your heart rate. Do as many rounds as possible. Though most of these moves call for a box or med ball, you can easily use only your bodyweight for each of them. Keep in mind that solid form is key, says Marizu. So start out slow (and without equipment) until you get the movements down, then crank your speed up.
Heat things up right out of the gate. Your inner thighs bring your legs together at the top of the movement, as you mimic a basketball shot to get your arms involved.
How to: Start standing with feet hip-width apart, holding a med ball with both hands (a). Push your hips back and drop your butt down into a squat, as you touch the floor with the med ball (b). Explode off your feet to jump straight up, pushing the ball up toward the ceiling. At the top, tap your feet together (c). Land softly back on your heels, feet hip-width apart and knees bent (d). Then repeat. Keep your head and eyes up the entire time.

A creative combination exercise that works your entire body, from shoulders to abs to legs. Feel free to skip the box and do this on the floor, just remember: the faster you go (with good form!) the more calories you torch.
How to: Start in a high plank position with both hands on the box and toes on the floor (a). Drive your left knee up toward your right elbow, then quickly return it to plank position (b). Drive your right knee up toward your left elbow, then quickly return it to plank position (c). Repeat one more cross mountain climber on each leg. Try not to pike or drop your hips in the mountain climber (d). Keeping your hands on the box, jump both feet wide to the outsides of the box, pausing in a low squat position (e). Jump your feet back to a plank (f). Repeat from the top.
Working your body in that side-to-side motion, you’ll target your core, glutes, legs and your arms as you move the med ball to each corner. Try to pick up the pace or step a little wider with each rep.
How to: Start standing, holding a med ball with both hands (a). Push off your left foot to jump to the right side, bringing your left foot behind your right leg. At the same time, push the ball diagonally to the right and overhead (b). Then, drive off your right foot, jumping to the left and swinging your right foot behind your left leg. Simultaneously bring the ball to your chest at the middle of the movement, then diagonally left and overhead (c). Repeat the same skater motion with your feet, back to the right, this time moving the ball diagonally down and to the outside of your right foot (d). Repeat the same skater motion with your feet, jumping to the left again and this time bringing the ball to the outer edge of your left foot (e). Continue with the skaters and keep the movement controlled, yet forceful.

You’ll definitely feel the burn in your legs on this move, but you’ll fire up your abs and arms, too. Get low on each step, then explode up and over the box.
How to: Start on the right side of a plyo box, with your left leg diagonally behind you, right knee bent 90 degrees and your left hand firmly resting on the box, elbow straight (a). Drive off your back left foot to step onto the box and bring your right foot up to join at the top. Arms should come up overhead (b). Hop off the box on the left side, placing your right leg diagonally behind you, left knee bent 90 degrees and right hand firmly resting on the box, elbow straight (c). Repeat to the other side and continue alternating.
Take it back to the fun of recess, with a little more athleticism. Your legs help create the brunt of this forward and backward movement.
How to: Start standing on your right leg (a). Take three hops forward, staying on your right leg (b). On the fourth hop, land on both feet in a squat position (c). Then take three hops backward, still standing on the right leg (d). On the fourth hop, land on both feet in a squat position (e). Repeat the forward and backward hops on your left leg and continue alternating. Hit each step, but don’t stay too long in the static position.
RELATED: 3 Plyometric Planks You Need to Try ASAP
This is a winning move in terms of total-body toughness! You’ll feel this exercise from head to toe — just engage your core as you go.
How to: Start in a strong high plank position with feet together and abs, glutes and legs engaged (a). Hop your feet halfway toward your hands (b). Then, engaging your core even more, hop your feet higher, bend your knees and kick your butt. Shoulders should stay over wrists (c). Land softly back on your toes, halfway back into a plank (d). Jump back to hit that full plank position (e). Perform one push-up, maintaining a straight line from shoulders to ankles and inhaling on the downward motion and exhaling at you push yourself up (f). Repeat from the top.

Taha Yessine Khenissi scored an early opener for Esperance in the sixth minute, Sibusiso Vilakazi equalising in the 21st of this group stage game.
With a slow, tired encounter drifting towards a draw, substitute Soumahoro Bangaly commited an unnecessary foul that allowed Khenissi to slot a 90th-minute penalty to earn Esperance a valuable away win against the defending champions.
Both sides’ weariness, as much as experienced Tunisian giants Esperance’s solid North Africa organisational patterns, slowed the game.
So soon after a frenetic end to a gruelling league season for both teams – though particularly Downs with their 54 games, following on 57 the past season – neither had much energy to race around the Lucas Moripe pitch.
It was a slog of a contest, to the rhythm of the Downs fans’ metronomic singing throughout.
Lacking in zest, the two best teams in Group C tactically could not outmanoeuvre each other either. But Esperance still managed to sneak the three points.
Right now, as much as the result will more than likely see Esperance’s win the group, Downs will not be too concerned.
Both these teams should make, not quite canon-fodder, but not too much more either, of Ethiopia’s St George and AS Vita of Democratic Republic of Congo to bag the top two spots and progress past the new, four-group format to the quarters, a new precursor to the semifinals.
Sundowns, though, may need to find a dose of intensity to ensure they do not slip further.
Downs were caught in an off-season slumber early on, allowing big striker Taha Yessine Khenissi in down then left to easily slide Esperance’s opener past Denis Onyango.
Sundowns tightened up after that, notably quickening their pace winning the ball as often Esperance were caught in posession.
The Brazilians equalised as Percy Tau was played into space down the left and had the composure not to shoot, but look for the pass inside to Vilakazi, who tapped into an open goal.
Soon after that Tebogo Langerman’s swerving shot from the left edge was awkwardly parried by Esperance goalkeeper Moez Ben Cherifa.
Kenissi still troubled, passing Motjeka Madisha with a strong run then shooting into the side-netting.
Madisha limped off, replaced by Bangaly, just before the break.
Downs struggled to be anywhere near as snappy in the second half.
It took until the 70th minute for the next half-chance, on a counter-attack involving Thapelo Morena and Vilakazi, where Leonardo Castro had half a yard of space but could not connect a shot.
That was the resemblance to a chance at goal in open play in the second 45 minutes.
In the 88th, though, winger Fakreddine Ben Youssef made a run in the area, Bangaly recklessly stuck out a leg, and the Esperance player made an appropriate meal of the foul, resulting in the penalty. Khenisse struck it in to the right of Onyango.
