To write original material and, when necessary, promotional copy, ensuring that it is:
- Factually accurate, well-researched, correctly referenced and grammatically correct
- Fresh, lively, reader-friendly, and cliché free
- Written in Cosmo style and tone
- Reflective of the brand’s audience
Other duties:
- Write copy for all platforms including print, website and/or mobi-site, and social media platforms.
- Source and write items for certain set print and digital sections, as allocated by the editor and online editor, each month.
- When required, write fashion and beauty copy that is fresh, factual, and on brand.
- Research stories thoroughly and ensures that the best possible sources/professionals are interviewed.
- Make sure all articles are submitted on or before the allocated deadline.
- Assist in sourcing relevant, on-brand images for features and articles and crediting these correctly.
- Produce shoots related to features and/or stories, where relevant.

- Formulate strong relationships with professionals in different fields (sources), to build up a solid list of contacts and, occasionally, to represent the brand at functions or speak on its behalf.
- Have an interest in millennial trends, websites, digital apps, fashion, beauty, music, socialising, and to be able to write reviews.
- Help editors needing to localise or expand copy from other sources by doing the additional research necessary.
- Be sufficiently in tune with the local scene to be able to identify the people and places that should be featured weekly, monthly and/or for special events and campaigns.
- Travel occasionally, when a story or event requires it.
Requirements
Features-writing experience (magazine or online) for a similarly high-profile title and a relevant diploma/degree in journalism/media studies (or similar).
The features writer needs to:
• Be honest and accurate when reporting. Submitted copy should be thoroughly fact checked
• Have good interviewing skills
• Have good writing style
• Think creatively
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Be able to work with a team
• Have good general knowledge, and be able to write copy on a wide variety of topics from fashion and beauty to finance and psychology
• Be comfortable researching and writing features on sex
• Have strong knowledge, interest, and experience in social media
• Be resourceful, able to use the Internet for research, and judge, which sites are authoritative and which are not, for example
• Be keen to learn and be flexible, with a willingness to adapt, cut or expand copy if that becomes necessary

25 May 2017 – SARS did not comment on president Zuma’s tax matters
Pretoria, Thursday 25 May 2017 – SARS has noted the News24 article, SARS investigating Nkandla fringe benefit tax, published on 24 May 2017.
SARS wishes to reiterate that SARS is prohibited by Chapter 6 of the Tax Administration Act (TAA), 2011 to discuss or divulge information on individual taxpayers’ tax affairs.
This right to confidentiality applies to all taxpayers irrespective of one’s position, rank or status.
The report attributes comments to the Democratic Alliance MP, Mr. Alf Lees that the DA welcomes the admission by Advocate Neo Tsholanku that SARS is indeed investigating the liability by President Zuma to pay tax on the fringe benefits related to his Nkandla private residence.
SARS wishes to state it clearly that it finds the comments as mischievous, incorrect and not true.
At no stage during the SCOPA meeting did Advocate Tsholanku make specific reference to the tax affairs of President Zuma. In fact, Advocate Tsholanku’s response to SCOPA was very clear and unambiguous that taxpayer matters are confidential and that SARS does not discuss such matters.
SARS wishes to call on all South Africans, including all political parties, to promote tax compliance and, at the same time, ensure that all citizens respect the confidentiality clause of Chapter 6 of the TAA 2011 to keep all tax payers information private as prescribed by this Act.
SARS wishes to reassure all taxpayers that it does not discuss or divulge taxpayer information.

Purpose
We are looking for an experienced, commercially-driven, super-organised operations specialist to manage and champion the end-to-end operationalisation of our online courses and corporate training products.
The successful candidate must be a process thinker, with a deep passion for education, and will be responsible for ensuring a world-class customer-centric experience (online and offline) for Red & Yellow students and customers. You will work closely with our product and customer teams to ensure that Red & Yellow stands above our competition in the minds of students (and prospective students) as the learning institution of choice for creativity in business.

Job responsibilities

- ‘Own’ the end-to-end operational process for each online and corporate training product, and ensure that they are world-class in every respect.

Requirements
- Proven work experience in project management, operations role or similar process-focused role in a professional/educational environment
- Proven track record in coordinating teams and executing operational plans focused on customer-centralism and excellence
- Ability to develop strategies, build and deliver against operational plans, and to communicate effectively and persuasively to all stakeholders (especially senior management). Excellent written and verbal communication is critical.
