My client is in the events, exhibitions, and brand experiences company that is very dynamic and offers excellent growth opportunities. They deal with some amazing corporate clients.

They are looking for an industrial/exhibitions designer to produce innovations for the company. Working closely with company’s staff, businesses, and manufacturers, the industrial designers will take products and product ideas and make them user-friendly, ergonomic, and attractive to customers. All creative and concept ideas are aided by the industrial designer by creating 3D renders, line drawings and sketches.

A typical day:

• Work closely with production manager, ensuring effective communication and management of client and teams’ expectations is accurately met
• Request a budget and ensure that the creative concept is cost effective, taking all aspects of the project into account, from start to finish
• Produce and craft original and usable concepts and copy in response to creative briefs
• Identify best practices through research and development and case studies to ensure that exhibition concepts and brand solutions stay relevant
• Develop skills and knowledge within yourself through on the job development, active participation in the company (e.g. disruption, brainstorming, training, and other company meetings)
• Design the creative concepts for events, experiences, and exhibitions received from the production manager
• Communicate any issues with the team due to low budget or insufficient time required for the job to be completed
• Ensure design software is up to date and being used in the most effective way
• Initiate new jobs for the client and create timelines and tasks for the work to be done (future planning)

A perfect day:

• Both staff and clients are happy, and designs for jobs are either on or ahead of schedule and on budget

Top of mind issues:

• Making tasking efficient and not overbearing
• Keeping track of all designs and stay on schedule
• Workflow is efficient and creative ideas are executed

Reporting structure:

•  Weekly report on design hours sent to the production manager
•  Status updates daily to production manager

Requirements

• Minimum three years’ experience designing exhibition stands 
• An industrial/interior design qualification

Job description

The digital designer creates the look, layout, and features of our design executions on digital platforms for sports (mostly), this role requires an individual who has a passion for sports. The digital designer helps with principle design, maintenance, and additions to digital platforms. They work with development team, marketing and social media teams or managers, prioritising needs, and are responsible for the maintenance of existing digital platforms.

Key responsibilities of this role:

You’ll be called upon to sculpt and create a myriad of online products, services and programmes, so that in terms of visuals and aesthetics, they match the mission and strategy that makes us the great organisation we are.

We’ll need your artist’s eye to help:

• Interpret and execute briefs, conceptualise graphic, and layout solutions
• Designing graphics, animations, and manipulating digital photographs
• Design user interfaces and online media for web, mobile, and smart devices
• Liaise with product owners, clients, imagery companies, agencies, production, facility, and re-pro houses, etc.
• Working with other web specialists including web developers, social media specialists, and graphic designers, etc.
• Execute last minute demands
• Knowledge sharing and continuous learning and improvement
• Drawing up detailed digital design platform specifications
• Working/pitching conceptual ideas/designs
• Meeting relevant legal requirements such as accessibility standards, freedom of information, and privacy
• Designing digital platforms’ visual imagery and ensuring it’s in line with company branding or the requirements of the client

Requirements

• At least two to four years of working experience in digital/graphic design
• Layout and graphic design principles
• Understanding of multi-platform layouts and standards
• Understanding of usability and interaction design concepts
• Brand development, including imagery and logo design
• HTML5 banner creation
• Multimedia presentation knowledge
• Knowledge of hardware, e.g. Mac, PC based platforms, etc.
• Knowledge of software packages e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (Animate), etc.
• Understanding of file formats, file transfer and optimisation
• Competent in time management and organisation
• HTML and CSS knowledge and experience (an advantage but not essential)
