Job Purpose:
Academic delivery of module, allowing students to further develop their knowledge and skills from second year to deepen their ability to analyse, create and evaluate solutions in the field of digital design and to apply this knowledge and skills through highly conceptual thinking in the spheres of digital strategy, digital communication and storytelling and digital interactions and experiences to produce user-centred design solutions.
Education:
- BA Hons or Masters in multimedia design; BA Hons or Masters in design in digital media, BA Hons or Masters in digital design; BA Hons or Masters in interaction design.
- Experience in video, 3D animation and UI and UX design for mobile applications is essential. Should have a relevant portfolio of work
Alternatively:
- BIS Hons or Masters in Multimedia or similar, with at least three years of experience as a designer or in advertising.
- Experience in video, 3D animation and UI and UX design for mobile applications is essential.
- Should have a relevant portfolio of work
Work experience:
- At least four years of industry experience, with a collaborative, cross-platform, multi-disciplinary approach to conceptualising and crafting for various kinds of brand communication, marketing and advertising.
- An aptitude for Design Thinking and Creative Strategy in relation to problem solving, preparing for action, critical engagement and decision making is a must.
- The successful candidate is required to have a layered portfolio detailing her/his ability to engage with complex brand challenges following all of the above.
- Experience in 3D animation and design for mobile applications is essential.
Computer literacy:
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required for academic administration and delivery.
- Good knowledge and proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro and XD), 3DS Max and of web development such as html5, CSS, jquery, and javascript is a prerequisite
Requirements
Key performance areas:
- Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.
- The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students’ concerns to the student relations coordinator.
- Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.
- Proactively participates in Vega events, such as open days, graduation and others.
- Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.
- Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education’s (The IIE) policies.
