SPARK Media is a media sales powerhouse in the marketing and advertising industry. The Caxton subsidiary focuses on the local newspaper’s national advertising sales are also specialists in digital sales.

Reporting to the financial director, the successful candidate will have the responsibility for ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded on the accounting system and is accurately and expediently provided to the financial director as well as other relevant stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will be as follows:

• Credit vetting, opening debtor accounts, telephonic and email debt collection
• Processing invoices and credit notes
• Processing monthly client statements, capturing client payments and reconciliation of client accounts
• Debtors age analysis management
• Client liaison
• Producing accurate monthly and weekly reports within agreed deadlines
• Monthly and weekly journals prepared or authorised for processing
• Supporting sales representatives and ad operations with finance-related queries
• Various year-end reconciliations in preparation for the annual audit
• Assisting the FD to ensure the audit process is completed within schedule which includes liaison with the external auditors
• Filing, faxing and other administrative-related duties

Requirements

Requirements:

• A tertiary qualification in accounting/bookkeeping is an advantage
• Two to three years’ relevant experience in a medium-sized firm
• Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage
• Exposure to debtors management
• High levels of energy
• High levels of maturity and responsibility
• Strong teamwork orientation with an ability and preparedness to contribute ideas and assist in updating input outside immediate areas of accountability

Well-rounded interpersonal skills with an ability to relate at various levels
