Job description

We’re looking for an exceptional digital designer with experience at conceptualising and executing across the full spectrum of digital mediums to freelance at our fast growing digital communications agency in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will work on an exciting mix of business-to-business and consumer brands.

You need to be a fast thinker with initiative, able to come up with innovative design concepts and obsessed with digital trends and design. Just as comfortable working in pixels as you are conceptualising award-winning concepts and have the keen ability of translating concepts into breakthrough visual designs for all forms of digital marketing. You have to have the ability to work in both digital and integrated environments.

Your digital design skills should include but not be limited to campaign microsites, brand portals (web and mobile), mobile, in-site and desktop applications, social media engagements and digital media activations (email and banners).

Requirements

• Degree (non-negotiable)
• Electronic portfolio showcasing your experience (non-negotiable)
• Four to five years experience at least two of them in a digital agency
• Proven track record in producing award-winning creative ideas
• Experience across all digital channels
• The ability to conceptualise and execute digital campaigns
• The ability to produce your own campaigns and actively inspire others
• A desire to push ideas into new and interesting spaces
• User experience and user journey planning
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.)
• E-commerce and CMS design experience
• Understanding of website trends (including designing for responsive websites)
• Strong sense of design, layout, typography and branding for digital formats
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS, web technologies and their strengths/limitations
