The vision of The Animation School is to be internationally recognised as the leading provider of higher education in the field of animation by producing award-winning graduates who are employed by top companies worldwide.

We are looking to appoint a drawing and story lecturer for our Diploma in Digital Animation, to join our dynamic team at our Johannesburg campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and creatively delivering the story and 2D drawing curriculum to a diverse cohort as well as conducting the required assessments, in a way that promotes high quality education.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of software relevant to the effective delivery of the programme (Adobe Suite and ToonBoom)
• Thorough understanding of life drawing, 2D animation and story development for animation 
• Excellent ability to inspire and motivate students 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to mentor students
• Good ability to manage time and work to deadlines
• Proven organisational and planning ability

Required qualifications and experience: 

• A minimum of a degree in animation or related field
• A minimum of two years’ experience working in the animation industry with a focus on directing and/ or leading a team
• Experience teaching in higher education or at least some other teaching training experience
