Job purpose:
Academic delivery of module with Advanced Illustration, focus on applying conceptual and illustration skills to challenging projects that require conceptual problem-solving. This module explores different illustration techniques and different applications of illustrations, to build on the Basic and Intermediate Illustration modules.
Education:
- Honours degree/masters in a design field, such as multimedia design, game design or digital arts with experience in 3D character animation.
Work experience:
- At least three years industry experience, with a collaborative, cross-platform, multi-disciplinary approach to research, conceptualising and crafting for various kinds and genres of digital games on both computer and mobile platforms.
- An aptitude for Design Thinking and Creative Strategy in relation to problem-solving, preparing for action, critical engagement and decision making is a must.
- The successful candidate is required to have a layered portfolio detailing her/his ability to engage with the entire game design process.
- Experience in 3D character animation is essential.
Computer literacy:
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint required for academic administration and delivery.
- Good knowledge and proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as 3DS Max, is a prerequisite.
Requirements
Key performance areas:
- Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.
- The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the student relations coordinator.
- Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.
- Proactively participates in Vega events, such as open days, graduation and others.
- Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.
- Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education’s (The IIE) policies.
