Job description
Community Media Trust (CMT) is a South African NGO focusing on communication in the fields of basic human rights. CMT aims to empower individuals and communities, encouraging them to take part in managing and improving their own lives, promoting healthy and health seeking behaviour and basic human rights. It does this through media and outreach programmes that provide scientific information in a format that is easy to understand.

CMT wishes to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced facilitator. Applicants must reside in Durban. We are looking for a facilitator with a minimum of two years’ facilitation experience and a traceable track record. Due to the unique nature of business suitably qualified NON-South African (Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique) females are encouraged to apply. All non-South African applicants must have the required valid work and residency permits to be eligible for consideration.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate and participate in training sessions
- Oversee and manage Mentors who are running the girls clubs
- Managing discussions on sensitive topics in an inclusive manner
- Collecting and monitoring data as needed
- Referring participants to appropriate services as needed
- Attend regular project and stakeholder meetings

Requirements
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a related field
- Prior experience in facilitating groups
- Prior experience in HIV and/or community work
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication and facilitation skills
- Computer literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
