Job description
To lead and execute the development and execution of a regional sales and marketing strategy that will deliver sustainable, profitable sales growth in line with the organisation’s longer-term vision. Lead, motivate and manage a diverse sales team in achieving this strategy.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Compile a sales and marketing strategy based on customer research and market segmentation
- Lead the execution of the strategy through the sales and marketing teams
- Conduct regular updates to customer teams at all levels to ensure service levels are maintained
- Ensure a thorough understanding and cost structures of all manufacturing locations to ensure effective product costing and planning
- Deliver a seamless process from concept brief to pre-production including effective handover to production teams
- Source new opportunities with current and new customers
- Research, prepare and present new trends, fabrics and product ranges
- Develop, manage and enhance all pre-production activities and processes.
- Planning of product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans in conjunction with customers and internal planning
- Liaising and constant communication with customers, suppliers and distributors on range developments, trends and status of orders
- Working closely with designers and department staff in ensuring optimal effectiveness, enhancing customer interest and sales
- Ensure effective oversight of all outsourced activities and management of fabric pipeline
- Forecasting profits and sales
- Initiate costing, plan and review budgets
- Aid in sourcing of fabric and trimmings
- Implement a clear process for approval of all pre-production positioning of prints, embroideries, pockets, buttons, transfers etc
- Ensure licencing approvals are in place for all styles before production
- Make budget presentations to senior management
- Liaise with the internal production team
- Setting and meeting deadlines and meeting delivery dates
- Identify production and supply difficulties and be solution driven
- Manage staff performance, training and supervision of junior team
- Conduct customer and competitor research
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge and experience required
- Qualification in clothing/fashion design essential
- Proven track record in managing a sales and design team
- Computer literate with excellent Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar environment (clothing and fashion industry)
- Strong leadership skills
