Job description
Epicentre is looking for a skilled house mother to provide general support to field staff living in the Epicentre house. She will be required to ensure the smooth running of the house and provide a happy comfortable and well-disciplined atmosphere for staff. She will be required to undertake a variety of day-to-day duties within the house and play an integral part in ensuring that our field staff is provided with a clean and comfortable living area.
Responsibilities:
- To take care of all matters concerning the care and welfare of the house.
- To keep a formal record of incidents that occur in the house.
- Managing the daily running of the house.
- To be responsible for the keys.
- To be the main point of contact during the day in regard to placing orders, etc.
- To make sure the domestic arrangements of the house is in order e.g. cleanliness and laundry.
- Basic housekeeping duties include vacuuming, dusting, mopping, surface cleaning and kitchen and bathroom details, making sure all assigned areas of the home are clean, neat and tidy.
- To provide catering requirements for staff living at the house, cooking and food preparations e.g. breakfast, lunch packs and dinner.
- To report all necessary repairs to be attended to.
- Completing relevant daily paperwork.
Location:
KwaZulu-Natal, Westville and surrounding areas.

Requirements
Education requirements:
Matric certificate.
Previous experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
- The house mother needs to have personal qualities which will enable them to support the company and staff in ensuring that trust and confidence are built.
Knowledge and skills required:
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to pay great attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and isiZulu.
- Ability to work independently, but be a team player.
- Must show initiative
- Must be energetic.
