We are looking for an industrial designer with experience in the display solutions space. Specifically, practical experience working with CNC routers, both in setting up the files and being able to operate the machine. Must have a passion for the production side of design but equally comfortable creating unique display solutions using other digital printers and cutters. Based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, you will be working for a company specialising in design and manufacture of innovative display and point of purchase solutions.

Qualifications/experience

• One to five years’ industry experience and be able to demonstrate:
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for display and POP solutions
• CNC router experience essential
• Experience with display solutions design and manufacturing
• Enthusiasm, passion, and a creative flare a necessity

Job specifications

Main purpose
Deliver artwork according to brief, ensuring all jobs are accurate and on time. This includes producing artwork designs, mock-ups and branding layouts and setting up final material for sending to print. You will be required to liaise directly with sales, design colleagues and production to ensure all jobs get printed and cut correctly and delivered within defined timelines.

Main responsibilities

• Work to a defined design brief or form part of the team conceptualising the design
• Act as the DTP control person responsible for all router jobs to ensure files are supplied in the correct format and operators are briefed accordingly
• Effectively time manage jobs and work towards tight deadlines
• Give the best possible innovative and creative solutions to the job at hand
• Ensure all work delivered remains true to the brand and its CI
