Intermediate Business Analyst Ii – Store Service Departments
Purpose:
To ensure that efficient and cost effective business solutions and processes are in place to address business needs/requirements. The role facilitates effective and competitive business processes by eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting business organisational and/or operational requirements. The role acts as a bridge between the business unit, organisational stakeholders and the solution team.
Qualifications Essential:
• 3 years Degree/Diploma in Information Systems, Technology or Analysis / if no degree/diploma, experience should be double the years of the qualification in a BA role OR (refer to additional info per domain)
• 1 year Diploma in Business Analysis (National Certificate) FTI
Experience Essential:
• 3-5 years Business analysis experience within a Business analysis role
• 2 years Retail industry experience
• 3-5 years working on Store service departments, deli, butchery and related processes
Knowledge – Desirable:
• ERP experience (Related to Business Domain)
• SAP Experience
Knowledge – Essential:
• Formal training in business analysis and design methodologies
• Experience in participating in projects
• Solid track record in successful delivery in the BA environment
• Commercial and business understanding of the broader retail industry will be advantageous

Information Seeking and Analysis – 20%
• Analyse and understand the current business environment and strategies
• Understand the current trends and developments in the retail industry
Requirement elicitation:
• Work with user departments in the identification and documentation of user requirements.
• Assess and document the business implication of user requirements to the business process involved
• Propose and document process improvements where appropriate
• Assess risks, costs and potential benefits of alternative business process designs
• Define business rules and guide the implementation of these rules in the development of the various application
Leadership, Facilitation and Influencing – 10%
• Gaining knowledge within specific area and sharing of that knowledge across the team. This includes interviews, presentations and workshop facilitations with both business & IT
• Works closely with Systems Analysts, Project Manager to design and implement solutions
• Provide input on alternatives presented by the technical designers and answer detailed questions regarding the business design
• Confidently engage the most appropriate business representatives to obtain input and agreement on alternatives (related to best practise in the industry) that are presented
• Plan, arrange and control meetings, workshops and relations with the user during the investigations, design and development of business processes and solutions

• To build and maintain a trust relationship with business users – by delivering what was promised and providing solid knowledge and support

The Business Analyst needs to be able to:
• To deliver quality decision support solutions in Business Intelligence environment effectively and on time.
• To act as an intermediary between the technical people within the SAP BW team and the business community within the company.
This resource must be able to:
• Work closely with system analysts and project manager to design and implement decision support solutions.
• Analyse the available data in the data warehouse to determine how best to utilise it in the proposed solution.
• Identify and document data requirements from source systems if the data is not currently available in the data warehouse.
• Provide input on alternatives presented by the technical designers and answer detailed questions regarding the business design.
• Create prototype solutions to assist business users with defining requirements.
• Engage with business representatives to obtain review and agreement on solutions that are presented for reporting and BI.
