Environment:

A dynamic provider of consumer finance solutions seeks the expertise of an IT operations specialist to join its team. You will provide advanced tech support and guidance in a specialised Infrastructure domain ensuring technology meets agreed business expectations. You will also identify and escalate technical risks and issues. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant diploma/certificate with content covering technologies including Microsoft/LAN/WAN/Desktop/Laptop/Server/Storage/Telephony, ITIL Foundation Level and five years’ experience in an infrastructure environment.
Duties:

• Implement technology solutions in line with business requirements and pre-approved architectural designs/ solutions/configurations and that these are well documented.
• Ensure IT service continuity through robust and practical plans, which encompass (but not limited to) infrastructure redundancy, backup strategies and software patch management.
• Develop operationally and support policies and procedures and ensure they are executed.
• Evaluate change requests to establish the impact on both business and technical performance.
• Ensure that Third Party Service providers build technical solutions in accordance with the infrastructure/ solutions design and that technical support requiring an on-site presence is carried out in accordance with established SLAs.
• Deliver researched technical recommendations for the optimal adoption of infrastructure technologies and services that will be best placed to support business objectives.
• Evaluate and supervise updated technology component implementation into the environment, in line with agreed operating and capital expenditure budgets and overall business objectives.
• Responsible for the installation and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software.
• Serve as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and key users for ICT communications, initiatives, needs assessments, etc.
• Perform local administration and operations functions as appropriate in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for software license management and maintenance of systems documentation and operating manuals.
• Identify, escalate and mitigate technical risks and issues.

Requirements:

• Relevant certificate or diploma covering technologies such as: Microsoft, LAN, WAN, desktop, laptop, server, storage and telephony mediums.
• ITIL Foundation Level.
• Minimum five years’ experience in an Infrastructure environment.
• Practical experience delivering projects and updates in a formalised framework i.e. ITIL
• Experience managing an environment with technical specialists.
• Risk Management.
