String Communication is a leader in public sector communication, providing products and services to government and the development sector.

We are recruiting for a new post in our dynamic organisation based in central Cape Town, close to Parliament.

We are looking for a writer and editor with an interest in the public sector, governance and delivery. The post would entail research, writing copy and helping to create a diversity of media including news articles, vox pops, profiles, features and social media posts. Working in partnership with clients would also be required.

This is an entry-level contract post for a fairly recent graduate with a few years of work experience already under their belt. It provides an opportunity to work on a range of projects and media products and expand your skills and portfolio.
Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

The applicant should:

• Have strong writing and editing skills
• Have an interest in governance, development and the public sector
• Be able to engage professionally with clients
• Have at least one degree (a degree in journalism being an advantage)
• Have a positive attitude and an organised disposition
• Be able to work in a small team and take on a range of tasks, some bureaucratic and administrative.
