Eclipse PR Johannesburg is looking for a junior designer to join our creative team, reporting into the head of design.

We want someone with a strong design background who is creative, forward-thinking, and able to work independently and/or within a small team.
The candidate is to possess a true love for design, be comfortable in mixed mediums, and across various platforms and channels.

The core focus for the successful candidate will be on clients’ internal and external newsletters (HTML, mobile-friendly PDF), social media asset creation from static posts, animation, and infographics.

The company’s growth and entrepreneurial spirit mean this role will constantly evolve – the ideal person is someone who is flexible and uses their creative and project management skills to deliver quality work. This position requires a minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience. Advantageous if you have worked in a PR or digital agency.

Requirements

The ideal candidate:

• Two to three years of relevant work experience (PR or digital agency experience advantageous)
• Relevant tertiary qualification/diploma
• Good conceptual thinking and creative direction
• Proven Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects skills
• Mac proficient
• Working knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver, CSS
• Strong understanding of design principles (i.e. typography, layout, etc.)
• Ability to conceptualise ideas and bring them to life visually
• Excellent time management and quality management skills are essential
• Understanding how design influences the way people interact/engage online is important
• Pays attention to detail and quality
• Up to date with the latest design trends, best practices and technology
• Thrives under pressure and strict deadlines
• Team player
