Wine-of-the-Month Club, South Africa’s longest-standing and largest wine club, is on the hunt for a talented and enthusiastic all-rounded junior to mid-weight designer with a big passion for wine, gin, magazine layout, pretty product labels, illustration, advertising and product photography.

As a designer at WOMC you will work across our various brands, reporting to the art director:

• SA Connoisseur magazine,
• The Ooh! Box,
• The Gin Box and
• Wine Tonight? stores;
• as well as our various WOMC clubs such as our wine clubs, Coffee Club, Whisky Club, Brandy Club, MCC Club and Olive Club.
• Create product labels across our brands for commissioned products
• Design and layout of magazine articles for our magazine, SA Connoisseur
• Create adverts and advertorials inline with clients briefs for placement in SA Connoisseur magazine.
• Illustration for general WOMC use as well as placement in SA Connoisseur magazine is an advantage but not mandatory skill
• Design of marketing banners across our various brands for website, social and email newsletters
• Design of marketing material and brochures across our brands
• Product photography for digital and print platforms- Design of wine labels for personalised orders as well as WOMC own labels.
• Conceptualising new packaging ideas across our various brands to revitalise them as well as create once-off seasonal packs, such as Christmas Advent boxes.

What we’re looking for:

• A great attitude goes a very long way
• Someone who is able to manage multiple projects, keep to deadlines and communicate effectively
• A keen eye for beautiful typography and attention to detail
• A love for magazine design and layout
• Deep etching is a necessity – need to be good at this
• Processing and colour correcting of images in Photoshop
• Basic photography skills (training will be given if this is not a proficient skill)
• Illustration skills are an advantage

Salary between R8000 and R15,000 and is dependant on level and experience. Company pension fund benefits.  Our offices are located in Muizenberg.
